Skinny means coward
Ashley Graham, a plus size model recently spoke against the perfect body model that Hollywood imposes. Although lately Hollywood and the entire media business has been more lenient and has promoted healthier looking body shapes, Graham still thinks they are forcing certain shapes down our throats.
Graham also spoke about Jennifer Lawrence and how the media is using here as the poster girl with curves. Although Graham admitted that she likes J. Law’s body she is still not the representation of curves, but of a normal slim woman. Graham continues to say that it is easy for Jennifer to be like that because she’s a tiny person, however accomplishing the same thing for taller plus size women can be hard.
One of Graham’s most important beliefs is that everyone should love their bodies as they are. That doesn’t mean that you should take care of yourself by eating healthy and exercising, however she feels that the media is putting a useless amount of pressure on kids these days – especially girls – to look in a certain way and especially to not have 1 extra pound than the model specific weight. She says that this is the main cause of eating disorders nowadays.
Whenever she’s not out on modeling gigs Ashley goes from high school to high school around the country to promote healthy living. She always blames the media for the wrong opinions children have and tell them what is really important in life: being healthy and loving yourself no matter who you are and how you look.
