Jennifer Aniston opens up about divorce
In 2005, America’s sweetheart divorced Brad Pitt after a picture-perfect romance. The couple had been married for five years and on the surface, everything seemed to be going well. The split coincided with Brad Pitt’s movie with Angelina Jolie, leading to rumors that Jolie seduced Pitt, leaving Aniston in the dust.
However, as Aniston revealed in an interview, the horrible divorce was not as traumatizing for her as it seemed to be for the rest of America. “I don’t find it painful,” Aniston stated nonchalantly. “I think it's a narrative that follows you because it's an interesting headline. It's more of a media-driven topic."
The divorce made headlines in 2005 because of the high-profile actors and actress involved. However, the ex-couple have moved on, and are no longer involved in each other’s lives. Brad Pitt is married to actress and Mr. & Mrs. Smith costar, Angelina Jolie, and they have six children together. Jennifer Aniston is starting a family of her own, engaged to actor Justin Theroux. She has publicly stated that she has forgiven “Brangelina” for the drama.
Aniston still keeps in touch with her ex-husband casually, but at the moment she is more focused on her relationship with Theroux, and the production of her newest movie, Cake. She did not want to fire up too many rumors about her present romance, though, and simply told CBS, “We know what our truth is, and [the rumors are] all just static.”
The famous actress has been nominated for the Golden Globe for her role in the independent drama, Cake. In her interview with CBS, she speaks more on disappearing “into the depths of a character.”
